Kazuri in Swahili means “Small and Beautiful”

The mission of Kazuri is to provide and sustain employment opportunities for disadvantaged members of Kenyan society and, in particular, single mothers. In order to achieve this, they produce top quality hand-made and hand-painted ceramic jewelry and pottery.
The Kazuri workshop in Nairobi, Kenya, employs over 340 women, most of whom are single mothers. It is equipped with a clinic, providing free medical care for the employees and their immediate family. In the developing world of today’s Africa, one of the greatest contributions is to create employment, especially for the disadvantaged. The result is reflected in the strength of the Kazuri Family and the beauty of their products.
All the profits from WMF’s Mission-Based Marketplace will go toward our Empowerment Through Education (ETE) scholarship program and the affiliated Micro-Grant Program.
